Two stacks of paper

Two stacks sit on the desk. The smooth stack is bright and takes ink cleanly. The rough stack takes a pencil better and is the one these notes are drafted on.

A finished note is rewritten on the smooth stack only when the wording has stopped moving. Most drafts never leave the rough stack.
